Among the Oasthouses in 1935. During the Kent hop harvest around 40,000 men, women and children arrived from London each autumn. This massive influx meant services needed to be extended temporarily - including special hop picking seasonal arrangements for postal deliveries and collections. Appeared in the Post Office Magazine November 1935.
